From 29 August 2025, the US government is introducing new import regulations that will affect all goods shipped from Ireland to the United States — including purchases from our website.
What’s Different?
Until now:• Goods valued under $800 could enter the US duty- and tax-free under the “de minimis” rule which is now removed
From 29 August:
• All imported goods will be assessed by US Customs and Border Protection for applicable tariffs and import taxes.
• No value-based exemptions will apply — even low-cost purchases will be taxed.
• The amount you’ll be charged will depend on the Product, The declared Value of the goods and the tariff rate set by the US Government.
How This Affects Your Orders
Import taxes All shipments to the US will incur taxes/duties, payable by the customer before delivery.
Delivery process Customs clearance may take longer as all parcels will now be assessed.
Costs The final cost of your order will increase by the applicable US import duties and taxes (calculated by US CBP, not by us).
Payment of Duty Your courier or customs broker will contact you directly to arrange payment before delivery can be completed.
What You Can Do To Help
• Be prepared for extra charges. These will be collected by the courier or customs before delivery.
• Respond promptly to any payment requests from your courier to avoid delays.
• Check US import tariff rates for the products you plan to buy if you want an estimate before ordering.
Note: These changes are mandated by the US government and apply to all international sellers shipping goods into the United States. They are outside of our control, but we will do our best to support you through the transition.
